Recent Updates

This page is a changelog as of June 10, 2008. It will be updated every time I make changes to the live system. If you have any questions or suggestions for future updates, please contact James Hurley.

September 9, 2008

  • I updated this page (I know, it's been a while). I may or may not get everything I changed since the last update
  • There are now pages to browse events (available with or without logging in). Click the 'Browse Events' page in the menu at the top of this page.
  • Event statistics are now implemented properly. Pages to browse results will be available shortly.
  • The schedules are now being loaded more efficiently than before. There is still some inefficiency on the printable calendars page but I will take care of that this coming weekend.
  • I will now begin introducing new sports into the system
  • The Schednet Web Service is in a beta-worthy state with the Statistics being finished; so if your association (or even business) wants to see Schednet working through your website, get in contact with me.
  • I have done a number of bug fixes here and there, mostly minor. I should have noted them here, but neglected to.

July 24, 2008

  • Better MSIE6 compatibility (still not great, upgrade to Firefox or IE7)
  • Site becoming banner supported. Ads are starting to appear.
  • Fixed a serious bug WRT TimeZone offsets that was causing pages with lots of events to crash.
  • Fixed a bug that was preventing edited events from properly selecting the event type.
  • Player statistics are approaching completion. Big news for me, not so much for everyone else. The fully XML-driven statistics will allow us to add or tweak the behaviors of different sports statistics immediately without having to do any coding.

June 24, 2008

  • No-venue conflict issue resolved (again).

June 23, 2008

  • Tweaked latest news grid to fix a small bug.
  • Added "Forward" option as a position
  • New event e-mails should include an iCalendar file as an attachment now.

June 12, 2008

  • After finding a forum post by a Microsoft representative in a remote corner of the internet, I've made a change to the Export to Calendar code that seems to be compatible with Outlook. You can also now export an entire schedule at the same time, though in order to get it into Outlook you need to save it to disk and use the Import function explicitly.
  • Adjusted the style of the popups in the management pages; screen now darkens and is inaccessible when a popup is active.
  • Find Venue now has a Cancel option.

June 11, 2008

  • I have attempted to add an "Export to Calendar" button to events. Outlook 2003 is extremely sketchy with iCal files, so we'll see how this goes.
  • The current manager profile is indicated beside the clock at the top of the screen now.
  • "Add News Item" now accessible to all management levels.
  • Security levels adjusted for future development.
  • No-venue conflict issue resolved.
  • Server errors now bring you to a screen that is slightly less frightening and also dispatch an e-mail directly to me.
  • Clicky-fingers delete event issue resolved (hopefully -- stop clicking so many things at the same time).

June 10, 2008

  • Conflicts are now listed appropriately.
  • Notes can now be added to update e-mails.
  • "New Event" button now appears on Edit Event page after an event has been saved.
